Everything is Sacred - with a cup of tea

Katherine, Derek, Sandee
It’s always good to re-connect with old friends (not friends who are “old,” but friends who have been friends for a long time).

Sandee and Katherine are the kind of friends who make picking up the threads of the ongoing relationship seamless. It could have been three weeks or three years and – either way – we’d have no ground to make up. Sandee made dinner, then we shared a cup of tea.

It helps that we were all part of the original covenant group that constantly loved and encouraged Rebekah and me back in Pensacola. We have shared so many meals, and Bible-studies, and prayers, and struggles, and joys, and tears, and cups of tea, and deep conversations over the years that – well – everything is sacred.

INVITATION: And that is the simple point of this morning’s brief post. Today is Sunday, when we have this open invitation in front of us to head on over to whatever church we’re connected with, and to pick up this ongoing conversation with God.

It doesn’t matter if it’s been three weeks or three years. With God the acceptance and the commitment is 100%.

And, in a world where it’s often true to say that “nothing is sacred,” with God the opposite is true, everything is sacred -and most especially the relationship.

Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?” – Genesis chapter 3

Really, where are you? God would like a chat – maybe over a cup of tea….
